Judith Owens-Manley
Interim President
Dr. Owens-Manley came to Alaska in 2010 as Director of the Center for Community Engagement & Learning and Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at UAA and began serving on the Board for AKWHOF in 2013. Retiring from UAA in 2019, she continues to work as the Community Engagement Site Director on a Clinical Translational Research grant for the university and also serves as the Board Chair for the Alaska Humanities Forum. She and her husband, Brian, and dog Kira enjoy all outdoor activities in Alaska, from the long winters for cross-country skiing and summers for hiking, berry picking, and being out on their boat, Kakwik on Prince William Sound.
Monica Sterchi-Lowman
Vice President
Monica was raised on the Kenai Peninsula and takes pride in the “Can Do” spirit of Alaska which is exemplified by the women in the Alaska Women’s Hall of Fame. A long-time supporter of the Anchorage community, Monica has served on several nonprofit boards and is a founding member of AIGA Alaska—the local chapter of the national professional association for design—where she served as President from 2018-2020. Monica is currently a member of the Society of Publication Designers and on the board of the Alaska Women’s Hall of Fame.
Bonnie L Jack
Treasurer
Anchorage-born and raised, Bonnie is a founding board member and treasurer of AK WHoF. She is a landlady for three duplexes and has always been actively involved in her community. Currently, she is the volunteer administrator of the Anchorage ATHENA Society, a founding member of the stock investment club, FYI, and has participated in numerous political campaigns and initiatives throughout her life. She is also the mother of adult boy-girl twins and grandmother of two plus a surrogate grandson.
Pamela Kendrick
Secretary
Pamela is a founding member of the AKWHOF. She is a small business owner, for 20 years, in the heart of mid-town Anchorage. She is a member of the Awards and Personalization Association. She has been a member of the non-profit organization, Zonta Club of Anchorage for 19 years, and has served on the board as President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Director. She served as President of Willow Crest PTA 2018-2019, and 2019-2020. She is currently the President of the Zonta Club of Anchorage.
Christina Gheen
Director
Christina brings over 20 years of experience in community outreach and program development with an emphasis on education and community partnerships. She is a long-time Alaskan committed to supporting and enhancing our communities and the lives of people who live here. She is grateful that her role as grants manager for the Rasmuson Foundation allows her to do so. Christina also serves on the board of the Alaska Center for the Book.
Jane Angvik
Director
Jane is a founding Board member of the AK Women’s Hall of Fame. She has been involved in community development and resource management for the past four decades, working with Alaska Native organizations, state and local governments, and nonprofit entities across Alaska to develop programs that enrich communities. She has also actively recruited and trained women to run for elected office. Jane was inducted into the Alaska Women’s Hall of Fame in 2014. Read Full Bio–>
