Alaska Women’s Network connected Alaskan women with each other, the rest of the country and the world through its website. In 2016 AWN was voluntarily dissolved as a tax exempt, non-profit corporation.
Alaska Women’s Political Caucus is a multi-partisan, multi-cultural grassroots organization. It is dedicated to increasing women’s participation in the political arena and creating a political power base designed to achieve equality for women. Through recruiting, training and financial contributions, the organization provides support to women candidates running for all levels of office regardless of political affiliation. The Anchorage Women’s Commission was created to advise the Mayor and Assembly of the Municipality of Anchorage on matters pertaining to the status of women. This nine member body is concerned with improving opportunities for women in the community.
